Welcome, to the 26th Annual Rotary Club of Oakland Food and Wine Event website!   Please consider yourself invited to attend “A Taste of the California Grand Life” on Sunday, September 21, 2008 ~ 1-4pm, at the Oakland Museum of California.

This year we are planning to make our event California Grand!  Upon entering the breathtaking Oakland Museum Courtyard you will hear the fine music of Jazz Artist Terrence Brewer, you will be greeted by one of our many dedicated Oakland #3 Rotarians and you will be given a handy bag to collect valuable information from all our participants.  But FIRST pull out your signature wine glass (our gift to you!) and wine butler and begin to feast your senses on the food, wine and beverage offerings that will surround you as you walk around the courtyard.  Make your way to the Green Pavilion and find out how you can live a more eco-friendly existence.  Stop by any number of the Lifestyle expo booths, mingle with old friends or make new ones.  All this while supporting The Rotary Club of Oakland!   

Together with our generous Business and Individual Sponsors; hard-working committees and Non-Profit Partners; outstanding Food, Wine, Beer, Champagne, Spirits and Beverage partners; new Lifestyle Expo and Green participants; and fabulous Raffle donors we will gather -RAIN OR SHINE- to raise much needed money (OUR GOAL IS $100,000.00!) for the many programs and projects that the Rotary Club of Oakland supports

We also invite you to participate in our fundraiser by one, or more, of these ways:

  • SPONSOR-“A TASTE OF THE CALIFORNIA GRAND LIFE”:  Many Rotary Club of Oakland members are business owners, or individuals who work for companies, that understand the value of giving back to our community-both locally and beyond.  In exchange for your financial contributions, we strive to bring a high level of visibility for your Business, thanks in great part to our Public Relations committee.  For more information about underwriting this event, please go to our Sponsorship page.
  • EXHIBIT:  In addition to the fantastic food and wine booths, this year we are introducing a Lifestyle Expo and Green Pavilion to our program and we invite you to fill out an Exhibitor Application form.  Our exhibitor fee is $150.
  • DONATE TO “THE GRAND RAFFLE”:  We are currently accepting donated items to include in our “Grand Raffle”.  As with Sponsoring this event, when you Donate items to this Raffle you and/or your business will be recognized in our Event Program, on our website and of course in the hearts and minds of those that win your prize!  Please contact Mark Rosen at mark.rosen@info-gate.com to donate items to the Raffle;
  • ATTEND THIS EVENT and BUY RAFFLE TICKETS: Please go to the Tickets page of this website and purchase your tickets today.  We are also offering discounts of 20% for groups 10 or more, so bring your friends, family or office group with you!  In addition, if you can’t join us for the event, please consider purchasing a book of 12 Raffle Tickets for $100.  Individual/$10;
  • WORD OF MOUTH!:  Nothing is more valuable than sharing something good with everyone you meet.  This one event – The Rotary Club of Oakland’s -  “A Taste of the California Grand Life” - Our 2008 Food and Wine Event, has the awesome potential to raise a lot of money for really great causes.  Do consider joining us this year as we raise a glass and say “CHEERS!” together.
